The Health Department Kargil is committed to delivering accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services to the people of the district. Under the overall supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, the department functions through a network of healthcare institutions including the District Hospital, Sub-District Hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs).
Our mission is to improve health indicators through preventive, promotive, and curative services in line with national and UT-level health programs. We ensure the implementation of schemes under NHM, Ayushman Bharat, immunization, maternal and child health, disease control programs, and emergency medical services.
